About
Who makes Secure Notes
Secure Notes is made by PixelPort LLC, a small independent app studio in the United States. We have published Secure Notes on the App Store since July 2019 and released the Android app on Google Play in 2026. The apps are free to download and paid for by an optional Pro upgrade, not by selling data or showing ads.

What we build
One app, on two platforms: a notes app for the things you do not want other people to see. On iPhone and iPad it locks notes behind your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, keeps them on your device or in your own private iCloud, and can show a decoy notebook. On Android it stores everything in an AES-256 encrypted vault on the phone. The full details, including what the apps do not protect against, are on our security page.
How we make money
Secure Notes is free to download. Pro, sold as a subscription through Apple and Google (and, on iPhone and iPad, as a one-time lifetime purchase), adds features such as iCloud sync on iPhone, the decoy vault and encrypted backups (Android now, iPhone from version 3.8.1). We do not sell note content and we never see it. The apps use analytics and crash reporting to find bugs and improve onboarding, and the iPhone app measures ads with Meta and Google only if you tap Allow on Apple's tracking prompt. The privacy policy lists every service.
How we write this site
The guides on securednotes.io are written by the team that builds the app. We check claims about Secure Notes against the app's code, and claims about other apps against their own documentation, and we update pages when facts change. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it. Start with the guide to locking notes on iPhone or the privacy glossary.
